Brodribb River Rainforest Cabins is situated 2 kilometres east of Marlo on Healeys Road. We are ideally located, within a couple of minutes drive of the beach, both the estuary boat ramps and the store and hotel.
Our location is completely private, away from main roads, providing a peaceful sanctuary.
We regularly ride our bikes to the beach and the store.
Birdlife abounds at Brodribb River Rainforest Cabins, Sea Eagles, Lyre Birds, King Parrots, Kookaburras, Azure Kingfishers and of course the ever present Bell Birds providing an amazing musical backdrop to the views.
So whether you are in to bike riding, bird watching, fishing, surfing, the beach, kayaking and canoeing, bush walking or just relaxing by the fire in winter, there is plenty to do.
For the more adventurous, talk to us about lure and fly-fishing in the estuary or Helicopter rides along the coast or up the amazing Snowy River valley.
For those interested in local produce or wines, talk to us about local vegetable growers, berry farms, local venison and the best East Gippsland wineries.
The fishing is fantastic, whether beach, estuary, freshwater or offshore. Species regularly encountered include bream, luderick, mullet, trevally, estuary perch and tailor in the estuary, while on the beaches Australian Salmon, tailor, flathead and various species of shark are encountered.
Offshore flathead and gummy shark are the main target species, with kingfish and small tuna encountered in the warmer months.
In the freshwater sections of the Snowy and Brodribb Rivers, Australian Bass and Brown Trout are targeted. |
